HFU Winning the Third Place in 2018 RoboCup

    Held in Montreal, Canada from June 15 to 22, the 22nd RoboCup attracts over 300 teams and about 4000 participants from different countries and regions. After four days’ fierce competition, the MT2018 Robot Soccer Team of HFU, constituted by Yang Zheng and Liu Zhiqiang, two students from the Outstanding IT Engineer Club, win the third place (2D simulated soccer group) in 2018 RoboCup under the guidance of their teachers Mr. Chen Shengbing and Ms. Hu Chunling.

     It is the best prize earned by all the Chinese teams in this field this year, which in the history of RoboCup, has only been won by the other four Chinese teams. HFU MT Soccer Team has now become the fifth Chinese team on the podium of RoboCup for it. Established in 2012, the MT Soccer Team, a member of the Outstanding IT Engineer Club in HFU, has attracted many students from the Department of Computer Science and Technology. Thanks to the painstaking efforts made by all the previous team members, the very team have earned entry to the RoboCup four times, who will also learn from the past experiences to meet greater challenges.
    As one of the greatest and most influential international competition for robots, RoboCup has attracted contestants from such famous universities as Carnegie Mellon University, University of Tokyo, Technical University of Dortmund, Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China, and Zhejiang University and so on.
